The Hobbit: And Unexpected Journey

Dec 21, 2012 20:39

I stuck to my guns despite being uber busy getting ready for the holiday and made my way to the cinema this afternoon to see The Hobbit...

I don't care what people say about the film - I enjoyed it immensely. It was so nice going back to Bag End; like visiting an old friend you've not seen in a very long while. The dwarves were awesome. I loved everything about them: from their big blunt dwarf fingers to their wild hairstyles to their clunky, square-toed hobnail boots. Thorin Oakenshield is beyond fantastic, so much more fleshed out than in the book. And the LOTR cameos throughout made my day and were woven in flawlessly. Costumes were lush and the CGI is scarily spot-on now.

Bravo cast and crew, bravo!

the hobbit, smaaaaaaaaug!, misty mountain hop
