After a touch and go night with her red blood cell count (the numbers are so very very low now), the vet allowed Squidgy to come home this afternoon. I have to give her medicine three times a day to boost her immune system, and to keep the nausea down, and watch her carefully until her next red blood cell check on Thursday with my regular vet. It's palliative care, for sure, but she's really happy to be back in familiar territory. I held her the entire way home from the hospital (a good 20 minutes or so) and she didn't squirm or cry one bit; just watched the world zip by from the car window.
Her meow now sounds like a creaky door.
