In keeping with a yearly tradition of mine, I've knit items for the local homeless shelter Hats and Scarves winter program sponsored by my county library. In 2010, I managed to bang out
six knitted toques. This time around, I'm happy to say I was able to complete eight. Some were made from my "stash" yarn, while others came about after digging around in the arts and crafts room at a church I'm affiliated with - they had an overrun of yarn and were more than happy to let me take some off their hands.
A couple of the photos were obviously snapped earlier in the year, when the leaves were still on the trees and the grass was green(er). What with all the other knitting projects planned for Christmas, I knew I was going to have to get a jump on it...
#1:
A Hat Fit for a Boyfriend. I really like this one because it's compact and promises to be very warm and snug on someone's head.
#2:
Gerronomo from the folks at Crazy4Dyeing.
#3:
Thistle Cap, another cool snuggie I whipped up in record time.
#4: A hat from the famous (and uber hip) fibre artist Jared Flood's pattern collection,
Turn A Square.
#5:
Jesse's Christmas Hat by Elspeth Kursh, aka the WryPunster.
#6: Trendy and slouchtastic
Felicity.

Vyridia Fair Isle Hat with a slight modification to the Fair Isle portion of the pattern.

Double Diamond Argyle Hat.
Also! Today begins our annual 12 Days of Hawt Menz. It's our FIFTH ANNIVERSARY (!!!) of bringing you gorgeous men to make your holiday that much brighter. This year,
nightfalltwen will host it over at her journal.
(For those of you who might not remember, the 12 Days is a moderately sized, daily pictorial of 12 gorgeous men from the world of fashion, TV and movies. Her entries will stay unlocked to the public until Twelfth Night.)
