Long-distance Reading Question

I'm a new reader (a year's worth of reading and barely the double digits worth of readings to my name, for people who aren't me), but I'd love more practice. Standing against me is the fact that a) most of my social network that would allow me to practice reading with them is online and b) I'm nervous about reaching out to try to meet non-offline, in-person contacts.

To solve these problems, I've been considering reading over Skype or another video-calling service. I've tried doing write-ups and sending them to querents, but that's very dry and it really seems to leave the querent out of the process. I'd love to do something with more interaction, and I think Skype/video-calling would allow that. What I'd really love is to set up a homemade document camera to let querents get a really good look at the cards as I read. I hate for people not to be able to see the cards!

Has anyone made and used something like this? Any suggestions for webcams to use? Any particular tips for using Skype/video-calling for readings?
