Your characters on a desert island (vacationing or something, I guess, since they have that teleport ability going on): what do they bring with them? How do they pass the time?

Uh. Morrolan is there because her Imperial Majesty suggested that something on that island had offended her, so he is killing it. This takes up most of his time; obviously, he brings Blackwand.

Stiaan is either there to study something, or because Mikah is nagging him about getting out in the sun. In the former case, he brings pen and paper for notes, and spends most of his time experimenting; in the latter, a long book, and spends time outside reading and stubbornly refusing to tan.

...oh right question. Who's Serifar's favorite noncanon person in camp?

Well. iTunes tells me "Spirits of the Swords" by Kenji Kawai, for Morrolan, and that is perfect enough that I will keep it. Very wuxia violent. Now I have to wait seven minutes for it to finish, so that I can get an opinion for Stiaan.

"No Sleep Tonight" and "Atonement" are its choices, apparently, which are....well, okay. Apt. Understand that my iTunes works primarily through song titles, since so much of my music is instrumental. XD

Edward would get A23's "Let Me Be Your Armor" if it weren't for the damn last verse, so instead he gets My People (and you can tell he's my spirit animal because he gets a New Model Army song).

Soulcatcher gets this particular version of Mad Tom of Bedlam though Switchblade Symphony's "Drool" comes in a close awful second.

It is a series by Jacqueline Carey, and it is quite unlike anything she's ever written (for one thing, there's no sex.) Basically, it's an inversion of epic fantasy tropes; it's beautifully, beautifully written, and the ending made me cry. :|
