Today is November 20th. Thanksgiving is just 2 days away, and after that is "Green Friday" (which is what image-conscious retailers are calling the traditionally-known Black Friday now.) Today is more than just the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, though... it's also the 9th annual Transgender Day of Remembrance.
http://www.gender.org/remember/day/ There's even a webcomic project that originated in honor of the Day of Remembrance, which I keep wanting to do a comic for but as yet have been too busy to participate in.
http://www.dolari.org/dor/2007/index.htm Different people have different opinions when it comes to gay and transgendered lifestyles, but even if you don't agree with them you should at least agree that the killing of one person by another for no reason other than their lifestyle preference is wrong. Too many lives in this world have been thrown away for stupid reasons, so I ask that at some point during the day you at least stop for a moment and give a moment of silence out of respect for the brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, and everyone else who's lost their lives needlessly because others are too closed-minded to live and let live.
Thank you.
