Would you choose to live forever if you had the choice?
I was already given this choice, whether to be counted as a member the Firstborn or Secondborn races, both of which I have a heritage in. To choose the Firstborn was to choose immortality, to choose the Secondborn was to choose eventual death.
I chose to be of the Secondborn.
I will say that some of my reasons for doing so were more to do with fear of pain and heartache but there was a great deal that were about responsibility that I was being asked to assume as well. The Edain needed leadership that was neutral and I could offer that.
In this second life I have been given however I do not have to even think once about this, I will live at my brother's side forever onwards without a worry.
