The Butterfly's Return - Ch. 7 (Epilogue)

This is it, the last little segment of this staggeringly long fic! I never imagined it would turn out this long, I just started out writing and ended up with nearly 20,000 words (*le gasp*)- that's very nearly three times the length of my previous fic. Don't think I'll be doing this again for a while, but it was great fun to write! Hope you've ( Read more... )

I've been wanting to read this story for a while. My only excuse for doing it now? I'm a lazy ass who was intimidated by the multiple chapters xD However, I'm so glad I forced my butt into gear so I could read your story!

Sherlock Holmes has always been a favorite of mine, and I'm sad to say I've never seen the BBC version. If the show is half as good as your story (more than likely missing the sexy little tidbit at the end...it is cable after all xP) then I'm sure I'd instantly fall in love with it.

What's great about the mystery is that it seems very well thought out. A good suspense plot is difficult to come up with. You have to be original but not to the point of unrealistic. You matched this to a t. I love these kinds of stories, so I had a pretty good idea of who the culprit was (Although I was debating between Himiwari or Xing Huo). Each new bit of information brought the plot together nicely.

Of course, a little bit of Kuro-sweet was nice to see pop up every now and then. Many people forget he's not as gruff as he seems.

How you ending things, I'm actually hoping for a sequel (probably never going to happen, but a girl can dream).

My only problem was some paragraph formatting. Some were so long I ended up rereading more often than not. It can be tricky knowing when to start a knew paragraph, so it didn't take me away from enjoying your great story. However, I'm worried that some people might have missed vital information simply because they skipped a line unknowingly. My only two cents is keep weary in the future. Otherwise you've got nothing to worry about!

I am so happy I decided to finally read your story. A very interesting and well written crossover (surprisingly hard combination to find). As always, you're amazing! :3

Thanks for struggling through this long piece! I entirely recommend the BBC version of Sherlock, which has 6 total eps so far of about an hour and a half each. If you're British, it's easy to get hold of the dvds for a really cheap price. If not, there's probably an easy way to access the eps online.

Thank you for the story compliment! I've never written anything remotely mystery-orientated, and since it was a challenge at the clampkink meme, I actually wrote it over about the space of a week, having thought the main plot points through before committing. Gosh I have no idea how I did it! At many points I was like "this is too obvious, right?" and was bluffing my way through with my biology degree and a basic grasp of CSI Miami XD

Yes Kuro is a tsundere! XDDD

Oh god I definitely don't have a sequel in me right now, but I do have this vague sense of a plot that may one day stumble onto the page!

And thank you very much for the tips on paragraph formatting. It's something I will definitely pay attention to in the future!

Ahhhhh stop, stop! *^_^*
Thanks so much for this!
