ART: 3 wallpapers
landofart Challenge 21 was to create 3 pieces depicting favorite scenes from favorite shows/movies. Click on the images for full size.
With all three it was hard to choose a moment I could call favorite because there are so many moments I love!
Stargate Atlantis - The Tao of Rodney
Initially I was going to use the wonderful friendship moment from 'The Shrine' where they talk on the pier but I decided on 'The Tao of Rodney' instead. After being zapped by an Ascension device, Rodney decides to use his increasing intelligence and the time he has left to help others - takes away Ronon's scars, upgrades Atlantis, writes something for Elizabeth, performs a tea ceremony with Teyla. I adore that scene with Ronon but decided on the later moment with John. John is trying to help Rodney 'ascend' and Rodney asks them if they are 'good', and then asks John to read his eulogy, which John strongly objects to. I love this moment because it reminds me how often John refuses to accept anything bad happening to Rodney - a massive case of denial.
The Old Guard - Fight Scene at Merrick Pharmaceuticals
The memorable speech by Joe is a favorite but this scene as they battle their way out of Merrick Pharmaceuticals is my favorite. Each of them have been taken down by an explosion. Still groggy from the gas Nicky tries to protect Joe from Keane, then Joe tries to protect Nicky and when Keane overpowers Joe, Nicky is back fighting to protect Joe again but Keane takes full advantage of the fact they are still only human, overpowers and shoots Nicky point blank through the mouth. It;'s the moment after as Joe groggily makes his way to where Nicky is lying dead with the back of his skull blown out. All the fear of learning Andy is now immortal has him leaning over Nicky in fear, and the relief when Nicky comes back to life and reaches for Joe is so heart stopping.
Eureka - Journey Through Global Dynamics
So many great moments between Jack and Nathan but the trip they make through Global Dynamics to save Allison is a favorite. Even Taggart remarks that they bicker like an old married couple, but they prove they can work together. Then there is the moment with poor Jack and his fear of heights, and of course Nathan and Jack are still macho posturing until Jack explains why he should go first :) The whole trip through Global makes me smile every time :)
