\o/ SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Oh, I love that you've written more in this verse, because I really do adore it - it's one of the few I go back to again and again. You even make me like Danny (who I thought was a bit of a shit in the film, where as Michael broke my heart, DH's performance was so good.*)

Bluespirit and I were discussing how we both see Michael and Robert as 'canon' - seriously ♥ we love these two together so much.

This has made my day, and now I'm going to read it again :D

* OT comment, which may get me lynched, but what the hell...DH sold the kiss between Danny and Michael - because he believed in his character and motivation. That he never managed to sell any of the kisses with Dr Keller suggests he didn't believe in his characters motivation there...

I felt so sorry for both Danny and Michael in the film - needing to hide their feelings for each other because of the homophobia, and Danny was the more cautious of the pair where Michael was so gentle and sweet. When Beth caused Michael to stumble - I think that's where you first see how hard it was for Danny to act like he and Michael were just friends.

I am so pleased that you are still enjoying the series so much.

I'm with you on the kiss... The one between Danny and Michael was so hot and full of so much emotion - thank-god-you're-alive, missed-you, love-you - whereas the kisses with Keller had no power of love behind them. DH sold me on Michael loving Danny...but not on Rodney loving Keller (she was his 'Beth' if that makes sense)

"When Beth caused Michael to stumble - I think that's where you first see how hard it was for Danny to act like he and Michael were just friends."

I think your right and I really feel for Danny there. I suppose that I just find it hard to watch Micheal be asked to be best man and the talk about Bridge partners - the hurt and adoration on DH's face just breaks me. Danny seems too at ease with having them both, and Michael would so obviously do anything for Danny. I completely believe that Danny loves Michael, but I believe Michael loves Danny more. Does that make sense?

I adore the way Robert loves Michael ♥ that happy ending makes me clutch this verse to my heart :D

Keller being 'Rodney's Beth' - YES!

Also: http://vida-boheme.livejournal.com/155435.html the reply in comments is exactly how I feel, too ♥

I think Danny was simply the stronger, more practical one in the relationship; the one trying to ensure their secret love affair remained a secret by laying down the ground rules... but wanting Michael to remain close, giving him a reason to stay close.

It was heartbreaking but so necessary if they wanted to be together :( It was so obvious that Michael loved him though, wearing his heart on his sleeve, and I guess this is how Beth figured them out.

As for Robert...I desperately wanted Michael to find some peace and happiness after all he had suffered - he deserved it!

Glad you agree about Keller - she was his camouflage because it's so obvious to me that Rodney belongs with John!

Thank you for your lovely comments :)

I ♥ this au so much, even while it makes my heart a little achy for them.

I keep meaning to go back and fill in some of the decades of Michael and Robert. So glad you liked this small addition.

Thank you! Michael was such a wonderful character that it was so sad to see all the tragedy in his past.

Thank you! Michael's story is so bittersweet and I felt so sad for him in Century Hotel. Michael and Danny were 'modern' versions of starcrosssed lovers in so many ways.

LOL! It's one of my favorite series because of DH's powerful performance as Michael.
