TV SHOWS:
911: This is starting to get depressing to watch. My money is on that man Athena brought to the house wanting to burn down Bobby's 'perfect' life. As for Hen and Karen, that was so awful too... and Eddie caught hugging Kim after his breakdown. And of course it all ends with Bobby collapsing! Can we please go back to the exciting 911 rescue operations to save lives and give everyone a break regarding all the depressing melodrama! Perhaps some more sweet Buck and Eddie or Buck and Tommy moments.
Beyond Paradise: Not seen the episodes yet as I watch this with N.
Handmade - Britain's Best Woodworker: not watched any this week as I watch this with N
Interview with the Vampire: (1) An interesting start to the second season with Claudia and Louis searching across a war torn Europe for others of their kind. The deranged and grimy vampires they found reminded me of Lestat near the end of the original movie where he was terrified of the modern world, eating rats while hiding away until Louis found him. (2) The Theater de Vampire (?) scenes were very interesting. I liked that it was a shabbier (post-war) production using cinematography as the backdrop to give it a 'modernized' feel rather than it trying to directly compete with the movie. The new vampires are interesting and I loved seeing Lestat in those 'hallucination' scenes, plus the painting revealing how important he was to the Paris vampires. It was amusing when they reached that house party and Armand and Louis were talking but behind them you could see all the horror.
Judge Dee's Mystery: Not watched any episodes this week
The Heart: I came across the entire season 1 (38 episodes) of the 2023 Chinese drama The Heart on YouTube. Now, I love medical dramas and I adore Mark Chao so it seemed the perfect combination. I LOVED the show! Great characters, interesting situations. I ended up mainlining it and hating having to stop to go to bed! The two main male leads, Zhou Xiaofeng and Lin Yi, start off as 'enemies' but gradually begin to respect each other and become the best of friends by the end of the season. I enjoyed it so much I noticed the entire season was available on Bluray off eBay, coming from China, but for only $25 so I have splashed out as this is a show I know I will watch again. Plus next time I will have the added advantage of NOT streaming it as my internet sucks :) Sadly, the only stories on AO3 are in Chinese and none are for Zhou Xiaofeng/Lin Yi. Guess I might have to write my own stories when I get a chance!
The Legend of White Snake: I'm over halfway through and overall I am enjoying the story. I'm glad they didn't draw out the memory loss part for too many episodes but I am wondering what disaster will strike the two of them next. Love that Fahai (the Monk) told Qing she is a demigod so he is trying to help her reach enlightenment, though she doesn't know what that (demigod) means so she is constantly testing the poor man!
The Midnight Studio: Not seen any episodes this week
The Walking Dead - The Ones Who Live: I need to watch this but have not been in the mood for it as yet.
