10k fic challenge in a SMALL FANDOM. My The Yin-Yang Master: Dream of Eternity story is now over 13k and just needs one closing scene but I'm not panicking over that. I also now have a TITLE: Realm of Shadows. I've been in contact with my artist and have sent lots of screen captures etc for reference material. I'm excited over what they will create for me :)

lands_of_magic 2024 - R13
The comm has some PRE-ROUND challenges. Fortunately the deadline is a few weeks away so I can take a little time over them as I wanted to get other things accomplished between rounds. I completed PC01, which was creating some banners and promoting the landcomm. Also done PC02, which was to provide 50 prompts that could be used in future challenges - a mix of words, lyrics and images mostly.

landofart PHASE 22
I said I was going to give this one up but the mod has persuaded me to stay for one more phase. The reason? The mod has changed EVERY challenge to unlimited art so you can do as much or as little as you want. Now that doesn't sound any better to me. In fact it sounds WORSE. It was stressful enough when there was too much to do in too short a time frame but at least there was a maximum number of art pieces needed. However, I am now SOLO rather than on a team, so I can happily leave those who want to create dozens of art pieces for a challenge to get on with it and I will do whatever I have time for and what I WANT to create for a challenge - rather than stressing I will be letting down my TEAM by not getting full points on everything. We will see how this goes and if it doesn't work out then I will let it go :)
Of course there is a PRE-ROUND challenge but I will take a look at it closer to its deadline as I have too much else to do right now.

MOVIES and FANVIDS
I've decided to put anything I watch under a cut so no-one gets unintentionally spoiled, plus it means I can be more open about what I viewed :)
MOVIES: None this week

TV SHOWS Some shows I watch with one of my kids and if they are too busy then I have to wait.
Call the Midwife: Will be THREE episodes behind after tonights.
Death in Paradise: Sadly I worked out the killer and how they did it immediately, though obviously not the motive until partway through. Overall it was a good episode and interesting with the man and woman who never existed :)
Handmade - Britain's Best Woodworker: Not seen any more this week.
Missing: The Other Side: This is a Korean supernatural series about a guy (Kim Wook) who comes across a strange village while on the run from people who had abducted and were about to kill him after he witnessed them abducting a girl. I ended up binge-watching this as it was so good, though bittersweet. The village is invisible to normal people as it is filled with the souls of those who died but whose bodies have yet to be recovered. All the threads as to why he could see them were well laid out though there had to be something extra special about him and Jang as Yoon-Ho could not see his dead fiancee. Together with Mr. Jang, Wook helps to find some of the missing bodies so the soul can move on and discovers that one of the reasons he can see the villagers is because his mother is among them. She disappeared when he was seven so he spent the rest of his childhood in an orphanage. The entire story is threaded by a murder that took place 27 years earlier, and all the people murdered following, so a greedy psychopath could take sole control of a big company. A feww red herrings were thrown in along the way and the side stories where they find a body and help bring the killeer to justice were very good. Bittersweet as it is dealing with lost souls, most of whom died under tragic circumstances. I would definitely recommend this series and I am hoping the final scene means there might be a second season!
The Great Pottery Throw Down: This week's episode has only just aired so I won't get to see it for a day or two.
Till the End of the Moon: Still working my way through this series - I'm almost at the halfway point now. Lots of beautiful scenery and costumes, and an interesting fantasy element with gods and demons and devils. It can be a little slow in places, and contrived, but I will keep plodding on to see how it ends. Ye Xiwu is trying to make Tantai Jin fall in love with her so she can get the three elements required to create a soul-killing spear to kill him before he becomes a devil. I have a very strong feeling she is going to fall in love with him in the process leading to lots of heartache before a wonderful finale... as that seems to be the way these dramas go! That's fine by me :)
