Alive!

Yes, I still exist.

It's my first week of class, and I have homework. Real homework, not "read the syllabus". I have also already had a quiz. All in all, this would be okay except for one thing: I missed my equine repro practicum class. The ultimate in stupid! You would have thought that when my friend Amanda said, "I hear we have class together tomorrow at 2:00!" that it would have jogged my memory. Or that perhaps I could've checked my email last night and seen that the class had switched classrooms. But no. I completely and utterly forgot I had even registered for the class until I see the email today, and my friend responds back, when asked what class she is referring to, "Oh, I saw your name on the repro practicum email." Me: SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIT. Well, I feel like a real ass now, especially because the class is only one day per week. Gah! Or maybe I should say ahi, which is Italian (and sounds like "ai!" and means the same; should be easy to remember!). *goes to beat head against the wall*

Um...let's see, Christmas was good. Apparently my uncle may not be quite the crazy sonofa***** we originally thought. Hard to tell though, as I haven't seen him in years, and that is not a sad fact. The man is creepy. He's kind of like Feanor, minus the qualities of creativity and genius. Still, since it is possible that his degree of insanity has been exaggerated, I will rescind my hope that he kick it until further evidence is presented.

Also, I took Louis to his first dog show. He won his class, got best puppy, and took reserve winners! *pauses to hear various congratulations before cracking up* Okay, so he was the only one in his class and the only puppy, and he took reserve to the one other dog entered. Not an especially great accomplishment. Still, he had a good time, and was much better behaved than I thought he would be, especially outside the ring. Sure, inside the ring is technically what counts, but we were in the ring for maybe two minutes and out of the ring for twenty or so. It was just supposed to be a training experience, and in all, I am satisfied.

What else? Oh, it has been ridiculously cold, but today it was quite nice - around 28 F/ -4 C. Yes, it is rather sick when 28 F is "nice". But previously, it was closer to 6 F/ -15 C, and fluctuated between -8 F/ -22 C and 17 F/ -8 C. That does not even factor in the wind chill. I could see frost forming on my car windshield faster than the defroster could defrost. Rather pretty, but not very good for visibility. In all, what Alina aptly termed "Helcaraxe cold".

I'm sure that there is more that I've forgotten, but I can't remember what that would be at the moment. I am still too dumbfounded by the fact that I utterly forgot that I had registered for the repro practicum. >_
