In happier news, it's my grandma's 95th birthday today! I gave her a call earlier to wish her a happy birthday, which meant that I was also able to reassure her that I was never in any danger today (I live about 1.5 miles in a straight line or two miles' drive from where they finally caught the second suspect). I wouldn't say I get all my genetic predisposition to anxiety from her (I think it's pervasive on both sides of the family), but I'm pretty sure the tendency to go straight from "something's not happening like I expected" to "someone is dead" over things like unexpected phone calls or poorly-titled emails comes from her. In any case, happy birthday to Nana!
And now, I'd better go to bed, the better to get up nice and early tomorrow to start compensating for the fact that I got nothing done today, and that is bad, bad, and super-bad.
