Augh, there is too much for me either to explain or to sum up. So I give you bullet points!
• I'm moved in, sort of, in a new room in my old apartment with new roommates. They seem promising! I have no furniture, but as I gradually recover my stuff from my various friends, I've been getting reacquainted with my lovely, lovely books, and my new Target pillow now has a pillowcase (that even matches my sleeping bag).
• I get paid in ten days!
• I start teaching tomorrow at 9:00 am. Everything is ready - for tomorrow. My lecture for Friday is also more or less done, but after that, chaos.
• I'm sitting in on a colloquium on the Long Twelfth Century with the new medievalist professor in the department. I'm super-excited for new, non-dissertation-related learnings, and excuses to buy books! On the other hand, apparently the "Long Twelfth Century" starts in 1050. Give the Long Eleventh Century back the years 1050-1150, nasty Long Twelfth Century!
• No, but I actually am excited for the colloquium. Less so about teaching, although so far my panic is contained. I'm pretty worried about the workload, though. That, and what I'm going to wear tomorrow, seeing as how it's supposed to pour rain, and I have no raincoat and nothing more appropriate to wear on my feet than flongs, unless AB comes through with the suitcase he's been storing for me.
