*Whimper*

Three weeks from now, assuming all goes as I've unfortunately planned, I'll be at De Gaulle waiting for my flight back to North America. Sigh. This fills me with distress because I have so much to do before I leave - which certainly doesn't help with me not wanting to leave. COME BACK, YEAR IN FRANCE, LET ME LOVE YOU PROPERLY!

And yeah, I'm the one who didn't even want to come to France nine months ago. But I've changed my mind, even if I haven't done France justice. I WANT TO COME BACK TO LA BRETAGNE ALWAYS!

Anyway, here's what I have to do this week, which, as usual, will probably extend into the next few weeks, especially seeing as how I'm leaving on my trip to Lower Brittany on Wednesday morning. So much to do:

Academic stuff:

Major projects on the go
• Getting all my archival work wrapped up before I leave
• Getting in some library work before I leave
• Revising and translating my Saint-Florent-sous-Dol article
• Getting my charter database up and running
• Thinking toward what I'm going to write this summer, eventual dissertation
• Preparing to teach core classes in the fall

Spinoffs of major project - archival work:
• Final determination of what needs looking at in archives in Rennes
• Spend Monday and Tuesday afternoons in AD in Rennes [FAIL]
• Hopefully wrap up archival work in AD in Rennes
• Determine what still needs consultation elsewhere
• Determine if visit to archives in Laval will be necessary [No, but even if yes, no time]
• Email AD de Morbihan

Spinoffs of major project - library work:
• Make list of things to look at
• Look up call numbers of thèses, microfilms to ILL
• Talk to librarian at CERHIO library about getting ILLs (Monday)

Spinoffs of major project - article revision and translation
• Make in-text in article file notes toward revisions
• Undertake revisions
• Continued reading on Legros, Moines et seigneurs
• Start translation
• [ADDED] Find Mont-St-Michel charter with William as lord of Dol
• [ADDED] Look over Combourg charters
• [ADDED] Check name of John of Dol's wife - Godehildis or Basilia? Godehildis! I was right, Arthur de La Borderie's notes were wrong!

Spinoffs of major project - database
• BACK BURNER

Major projects - summer writing and eventual dissertation
• Collect bibliography from article on Vitré-Laval border
• Start writing down thoughts, however inchoate, daily
• Determine what charters missing from Laval side

• Preparing departure from France

Spinoffs of housing for next year:
• Email future roommates
• Email landlady P about lease, deposit, timing of these

Spinoffs of bank card issues:
• Check for messages from financial counsellor

Spinoffs of preparing for my departure
• Look into trains, decide what to do about final night
• Ask landlady about replacing worn-out sheet, washing bedding, deposit
• Look into how closing internet account has to go down

COOL THINGS TO DO EN BRETAGNE THAT I'VE BEEN PUTTING OFF UNTIL NOW BECAUSE I'M A LOSER:
