New weekly to-do list!

Academic stuff:

Work in archives
• Finish looking over, taking pictures of relevant documents in box on reserve
• Continue with fonds La Borderie
• Email archives in Saint-Brieuc IMPOSSIBLE, NO EMAIL ADDRESS!!!
• Possibly later in week, do a day or two of work in Saint-Brieuc [Next Wednesday, likely]
• Email BM re: cartulaire de Saint-Melaine, stuff for RD

Related tech stuff
• Copy photos to computer, delete from camera as necessary
• Back up computer
• Configure VPN connection to university network
• Back up my documents folder to network filespace
• Put cartulaires, thèses onto ipad

Communication stuff
• Email SS re: dissertation advice, dissertation, medieval job candidates
• Email AM re: syllabi
• Email advisor R re: update, accountant recommendations
• Email prof G re: Blancs-Manteaux, Monasticon Benedictinum, BnF, general update

Preparing for research in Paris stuff
• Keep record of archival references in BnF, AN
• Email re: the apartment of the woman from H-France list
• Other looking into apartments/accommodation in Paris
• Decide on amount of time, dates for Paris
• Start soliciting BnF advice, letters if necessary

Actual research stuff
• DO SOME FLIPPING TRANSCRIBING
• DITTO TRANSLATION
• DITTO DATABASE WORK
• READ SOME THINGS, SLACKER
• Sign out books to facilitated reading
• Revisit idea of work pacts with H, SS?
• Keep list of things relevant to looming K'zoo paper


Semi-academic stuff:
• More listening to French podcasts
• Read Nicholas Le Floch
• Work on French pronunciation, maybe do some reading aloud?
• Work on French grammar
• If necessary, email prof FM to verify his receipt of last week's email


Non-academic stuff:

Social stuff
• Reply to FB message from SKT, hopefully arrange meetup!
• Facebook friend/message SK, suggest going for tea?
• Take self out for lunch at vegetarian restaurant downtown, possibly on birthday
• Keep working on couchsurfing profile
• Keep an eye open for possible local couchsurfing meetups to attend
• Belated birthday-skype Cormac today
• Email Morgayne to arrange skypings
• Email parental units to arrange birthday skypings
• Get act together and send some postcards

Planning for Paris with Lauren and Laurie
• Send hotel money
• Start sending informational emails
• Start seriously discussing what we're planning to do!
• Look into train tickets to Paris, getting to train station Sunday morning
• If necessary, book train tickets, hotel in Paris

General tasks of daily living
• Do laundry (this time with bedding)
• Grocery shopping as necessary
• Cooking as necessary
• Sweep floor
• Keep up incremental cleaning of bathroom
• Take out garbage and recycling
• Do pushups
• Try to turn out lights by midnight, get up by 8:00 or 8:30 [EPIC FAIL]


Accomplishments of note last week:

• Looked at La Borderie and microfilm copies of Cartulaire of Saint-Melaine
• Looked at other files from fonds La Borderie and took pictures
• Labelled, organized and transferred all Nantes archive photos to iPad
• Did some reading, although didn't finish books having to go back to library
• Downloaded and briefly looked through Dom Morice
• Downloaded Mediae Latinitatis Lexicon Minus in ebook form for iPad
• Finished booklist
• Emailed prof FM with booklist, Dol paper
• Emailed KP lord of history department tech re: online filespace
• Made contact with SKT
• Paid rent and chatted with landlady and landlord
• Listened to several French podcasts
• Left my room every day except yesterday (which had to do with the weather)
• Worked on my couchsurfing profile and looked into local meetups
• Did a load of laundry
• Cleaned 3/5 of bathroom
• Tidied desk
• Kept myself in groceries and delicious food
