I resurface! I'm at my gate in Toronto, and in the past thirty-six hours Toronto has stolen my love and also heavily rifled my wallet, but I'm ever so happy about both. AND the $60 I spent on a taxi to the airport probably paid off heavily in meaning I made it through the IMMENSE Monday morning US customs line at the airport, so I count it as a worthwhile investment. And I still had a toonie left for Tim Hortons and time to stand it line again to get it.
Plus, I'm flying business class and that gives me hope of breakfast onboard. They asked me for my dietary preference, so it's possible!
In any case, I had an excellent visit with AM, who hosted me at her room at University of Toronto Grad House, and I even got to see my secret medievalist second-cousin ME, for the first time since what we both concluded was something like 1999. And I'll get to see them both again at K'zoo, the arrangements for which I must start making once I'm back in Boston.
It's been an excellent Canadian tour, and I had wonderful visits with my aunt and uncle, and Morgayne, and ladybird97 and AM and ME! I'm probably going to accomplish nothing all week once I'm back on the strength of my week of ongoing sleep deprivation and needing a break from my spring break, but it's been totally worth it.
Also, I went shopping yesterday (see Toronto heavily rifling my wallet), and got an AWESOME skirt and two tops at Jacob. Jacob's major color of the season is BRIGHT RED. Be still my heart. All I can say is that it's a good thing I already had an awesome red trenchcoat, or I'd probably have one now. The skirt is black and knee-length and A-line with a high-ish waist and buttons! And pockets! And fits like it was made to my measurements, to the point that I'm planning to wear things tucked into it! I also got a short-sleeved red button-down shirt with tiny white polka dots, and a navy sleeveless and collarless blouse with red wishflowers on it. SO AWESOME. I think I've decided what I'm going to wear to give my paper at K'zoo! And by the time I get home, my yellow jacket should be there too, so watch for my imminent clothes photo post.
