All I really really want is...

Following my post of sheer panic a couple of hours ago, I've calmed down about my ficathon woes now. I still think my backup fic sucks, but I've come up with an idea for my original prompt, so all quiet on that front.

Now I'm back to freaking out about moving to Boston.

Actually, my to-do list for today looks like this:

To Do, August 13th

Finish draft of Sam Carter Ficathon backup fic - err, that's mostly done.
Start other Sam Carter Ficathon fic
Work on cleaning room
Get boxes and memory key at Staples

Unfortunately, my to-do list for tomorrow looks like this:

To Do, August 14th

-Work on Sam Carter Ficathon Fic
-Work on cleaning room
-Summer reading
-Canadian tax returns
-Write up History Department exit survey and email Prof S. with it
-Trawl the BC housing website, craigslist, etc. re: housing, eep!
-Look into finding a place to stay in Boston upon arrival
-Email K from Seattle

Plus, I have to go to work. And there was a fairly nasty article about SIR in the paper today, so I expect I'll take some flak for that tomorrow. Grr, as if the fact that I'll be back on Dixon Damnation for my second round of inspections isn't bad enough...

On the bright side, on Friday my bound copy of my honors thesis arrived from Colgate, along with a very nice letter from History Prof S. I never had the privilege of being in any of Prof S's classes, but I got to know her reasonably well outside of class, and now I can happily report that at least ONE person in the history department still loves me!

EEE, I was so excited to get my bound copy that I had to take it for lunch with me to show my coworkers. They were suitably impressed. I reread it, though, and I think it could have used one more really thorough rewrite. Ah, well.

Anyway, now to go and spend some quality time with The Birth of the Modern World, I think. And hopefully tomorrow, since it's Monday, I'll hear some things from the people I'm waiting to hear from. WAAAAAAH, no one ever responds to my emails!!!

Looking at you, K from Seattle-Prof C-Future PhD advisor Robin!

Eep.
