I should probably warn you that this entry isn't as complimentary as the subject line might suggest, and any Chloe fans will definitely want to scroll on by.

I don't really share your enthusiasm for any part of this ep... it just didn't follow the last one very well. Very disappointing IMHO. Yes, disheveled Clark in a tux was a definite bonus, but I hated the storyline... I think it would have been more fun actually SEEING the party going on than the silly bits at the end, if only to escape that horrible Chloe-Clark angle - of all things gone wrong!

I will never appreciate episodes where they make Clark like the dunce and everyone else the smart ones. Chloe was always smart, but she needed Clark's bravery and good sense. Now she has becomed the Almighty!!! How ridiculous. It really grieves me that they should have gone this route. Did you see her shoot? Hello!!!! No, this episode made me more angry than pleased.

I used to really like Chloe and her storyline, but ever since they felt the need to make her a semi-goddess and match her up with Ollie... talk about a mismatched pair, I stopped liking the character. I liked better the Ollie-Tess pairing and obviously the Ollie-Lois, although that was doomed from the start.

I just felt that this being the 10th and final season, this episode was a waste. I share your sentiments about Chloe's comeback; better to have not.

I'm sorry I'm all over the place with my comments, much like Fortune.

I was hoping to see some smart development with Ollie having fallen prey to darkseid, instead, he's just buddy-buddy with everyone this week.. It was like this episode did not belong sequentially in the season.

I did like the ending when Clark professed his love for Lois, in 5 min or 5 years.. how romantic! But really, I was totally disappointed with this episode. Maybe I wasn't in the laughing mood when I watched, but my expectations were entirely different.

Let's hope it gets better from now on...

I agree. Why or how is Oliver acting normal when he's infected?

I had the same question. The only thing I can think of is that maybe the omega symbol doesn't indicate an infection that immediately takes over, but rather shows that Darkseid has made a connection to that person, and can control them at will, but until he chooses to do so, they'll continue to act as they normally would. But that's all speculation and fanwanking. :)

I'm still curious about something Desaad said to Clark in Masquerade.

Clark: And that's why the three of you have been burning omega symbols in innocent people.
Desaad: You act as though the marks weren't there to begin with. But I wouldn't want to ruin the surprise.

Exactly. Made no sense whatsoever.

I completely understand why you were so disappointed in Fortune, especially on the heels of Masquerade. The episode was completely out of place, it brought every ongoing storyline to a screeching halt, and most of it didn't make sense. I took what I could from it, the pretty and the funny, and I did appreciate how the actors threw themselves into their roles, especially Tom and Justin.

I used to really like Chloe and her storyline, but ever since they felt the need to make her a semi-goddess and match her up with Ollie...

I used to adore Chloe, but she's a completely different person now. My first loyalty will always be to Clark, and I don't think Chloe has acted like his friend for a very long time now. And the way they've elevated her to superhero status this season, often at Clark's expense, is just ridiculous.

The Chlollie romance has never done anything for me.

I was hoping to see some smart development with Ollie having fallen prey to darkseid, instead, he's just buddy-buddy with everyone this week.

That was the oddest part of Fortune for me. We have this big reveal in the last seconds of Masquerade, and then... nothing. Huh?

I did like the ending when Clark professed his love for Lois, in 5 min or 5 years.. how romantic!

I liked that, too. I love Clark! ♥ But it cracked me up that Lois's next line was, "That was the perfect thing to say." It was like ACS was using Lois to congratulate herself on that amazing, romantic line she wrote for Clark. It seemed a little self-indulgent to me. :)

Let's hope that Scion puts the story back on track, and takes us into hiatus on a high note. *fingers crossed*
