And I so wanted to be happy! I tried to love that episode, but the Clark scenes kept making me mad. I really liked the scene between Clark and Oliver at Met Gen, where Clark took the leadership role, determined and confident, and refused to condemn Chloe without finding out the truth for himself. And then Chloe showed up, and her presence seemed to suck the hero right out of him. >:(
Tom was very pretty, and I have to give a special mention to Justin's ARMS. Yum.
I don't get the whole insecurity thing either! The stories you suggest are exactly the kind you'll find in the comics. Yes, Superman does have moments of crisis, where he doubts himself and needs Lois or his parents to remind him how important he is to the world, but they always arise out of his worst defeats, like when someone dies because he couldn't save them in time, or when he despairs that he will never be able to completely rid the world of evil. They're never about him not trying in the first place!
I absolutely love how Erica Durance's Lois looks at Clark. It is a beautiful thing to see.
I agree, absolutely, and I do love the way Lois supports Clark, and the joy in their private, intimate moments, like in the barn at the end. The show just doesn't know when to stop. *sigh*
