The only Hellcats character I don't overly care about at the moment is Vanessa. She just seems so bland. I guess I should wait until the show actually airs to make up my mind, but eh.
I'm pleasantly surprised at how different Ashley Tisdale is in this role, compared to Sharpay. The writing must help, obviously, considering how exaggerated and over-the-top Sharpay was written and how totally unlike that Savannah is written, but I'm getting this soft, innocent, nice girl vibe from Savannah that I really like, and I think it's definitely Ashley doing something different that's selling the character to me.
I think Vanessa has a lot more to her storyline than we're seeing in the promos, but it's mostly about a love triangle I don't understand (why is she still attracted to Red?), so I'm not sure I'll care at all.
I don't think there's any comparison between Savannah and Sharpay. I like Savannah's vulnerability, and her naivete, and I agree that Ashley is bringing something unique to this role. I also think Ashley and Aly have great chemistry together onscreen.
