"The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches… born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies… and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not… and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives… the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies…" J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Wizarding money and how much it is worth.

Per Hagrid: "The gold ones are Galleons. Seventeen silver Sickles to a Galleon and twenty-nine Knuts to a Sickle, it's easy enough." Therefore 1 Galleon = 17 Sickles = 493 Knuts.

Other:
Publication titles should be italicised.

"You're nutters, both of you." PoA, C18, P257.
'Nutters' is the plural form of 'nutter', you cannot be 'nutters' unless there are several of you and you are all a bit insane. When Ron says, 'You're nutters', he is speaking to two people. If he had just been talking to Sirius he would have said 'You're a nutter.'

Snakes are rarely poisonous, but many are venomous! Poisonous means it will harm you if you bite it, venomous means it will harm you if it bites you.

Potions and medicines should be ingested, salves are applied to the skin.

Plebeian has an e before the i and should not be spelt 'plebian', 'pleb' is acceptable.

All canon spellings are taken from the original UK editions of JK Rowling's Harry Potter series of books only.
