The Song Remains the Same: Week 3 - Marching On

Song Choice;
Perfect for both vids. I really mean it! The song is upbeat and catchy, and the lyrics are incredibly appropriate for both fandoms:

I feel that SPN's brother relationships/themes and the associated drama in their lives fit a wee bit better to the lyrics, but Harry Potter's relationship with Ron and Hermione does apply as well. But considering the ongoing shifts in the relationship dynamic of the Winchester brothers, I think the song touches to their dilemmas. The 'wars' are both the literal ones (big bads vs winchester) and the ones between eachother.
Editing/Themes:
Gosh, this is a tough one. Both are edited exceptionally well. The pace is fairly similiar, quick fast and matching the beat of the song. The scene choices differ between each fandom, but also run on similiar veins, a combination of humour/fun moments and the darker more serious moments. Yet, both use the chorus to similiar effect - picking moments appro to the lyrics and cutting across footage of all spn seasons (to date of vid) and all the harry movies.
Both vids use dialogue from the show/movie (which I tend to like in vids) but SPN's always makes me smile - as its the classic, Bitch Jerk. The editing definitely captures the grand feel of each fandom, the joy in each and the sorrow.
Conclusion: by a nose, a NOSE, I chose SPN as the winner, mostly due to the closer match of song to spn themes. Both vids are big favs of mine. :) and the editing is marvelous!
