Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
I was slightly ambivalent about this movie approaching it. I am not terribly impressed with DC's fare these days. Dark Knight Rising was OTT and I did not really enjoy. Man of Steel felt too dark and serious, even though I LOVED Henry as Supes. So, I was concerned.
Also, Batman and Supes are friends - have you not seen HISHE Supercafe? *points*
But I saw it. And I liked it. Not loved it.(I think my love will be reserved for Avengers 3 Captain America 3 Civil Law Bucky 1).
In a nutshell I liked the set up and the nods to the various DC stories. I loved WonderWoman saving the day :) I really liked Ben Affleck as Bruce (was worried) and Henry remains my fav Supes.
It wasn't perfect, in a lot of ways. Too dark. Too serious. Too much crammed in. Batman using guns. Doomsday? I mean, if its the Dawn of Justice you don't bring out the big gun - the dude who took out Superman in act 1 - you save him for the big movie. Although it looks like Dark Seid is the major big bad for future stories. Too much, trying too hard. Its kinda the flaw in Avengers 2 too, but I still enjoyed Avengers 2 more.
But I liked it. It was great seeing the JL on screen. Esp WonderWoman. I think I'm going to watch Justice League: War again :)
