I have been putting off watching season 2 for a couple of arbitary and silly reasons and one real reason. The arbitary silly reasons are a) I don't like the red suit, I prefer the zorro black. b) when you really like something and the next season/sequel comes there is this fear that it'll disappoint and c) the trailer didn't inspire me too much.
The real reason I've been tip toeing around this is Jessica Jones. I liked Jessica, but I also didn't. It was dark and grittier and more psychologically grim. I don't want Daredevil to follow a similiar route, as it is already dark and grim and violent. But DD has Foggy and Karen and more humour and less mind-rape and evil super-villians.
So, today I took the dive during the afternoon slump and watched 4 episodes. What a sigh of relief. Whew! I am immediately in favour of a less-Fisk-centric plot. YAY. Claire, and Foggy remain awesome and may be even cooler. Karen is definitely cooler. I like Punisher and the mystery and maybe the DA is evil. The red suit is still too bulky and bleugh but its ok, I;m ok with it. It's.... so far so good! Less angst. More plottiness. I like.
Holding thumbs for the rest!
