I have avoided reading any reaction posts or really formulating an opinion on Season 8 and 12 and my little Rachel icon epitomises why.
Every Who fan will eventually have to say goodbye to the Doctor they knew first and loved best and will have to get to know a new face on the Doctor.
12 is my new face.
I watched the occasional 10 episode but 11 won my heart first and foremost. He is my Doctor. I went back to watched 9 and 10, and grew to love them, but 11 was and is my fav. And now... 12.
Rachel eptimoses all the older, wiser Who fans, from 1 to 10, who are just waiting for my whine of 'He's not the same!!' to which their reply would correctly, justly be: So sad, been there, done that, many more times than you.
Actually, Who fans are very polite (those who I have chatted to) and they would not be rude or unkind, I know, but I am aware that 'this' - these emotions of pouting about 12 not being 11, is the price all Who fans pay.
So I am not going to whine about 12. Oh, no.
But I am going to express some disappointment in season 8 so far. It feels - flat. Tired. Why is it always 'alien robots trying to get home'? Can we not retire the Dalek's and the Doctor's hate? I don't even know what was going on in episode 4! Did I miss something?
*pokes season 8* Get better!! Make more sense!
*flounces off to watch 5.1 again*
