Damn it, now I want to watch it again!!!!! *eyes time* (and see, that's what I mean with other things distract me)

Bilbo found the ring in another way in The Hobbit than here? Um, I have to admitt that apparently I'm not a very attentive movie watcher since I didn't notice that...

I agree with everything you said about Viggo (have you seen Hidalgo?), Aragorn, Boromir's death and the Fellowship. ♥ And, I'm so happy that Tom Bombadil isn't it too because this part (and the marches) are the only parts are really don't like in the books (and damn it, now I want to read the books again).

The elves. Hm, I always interpreted/understood them as a dying race with dark memories of dark ages and therefore was very suprised when I saw the laughing, smiling and (seemingly) carefree version of Elrond in The Hobbit.

The Wraiths are so awesome. It doesn't matter if they are on horseback, on foot or on the flying beast - wonderful creepy!

Yep, both in the book and in the Fellowship, Bilbo 'finds' the ring in the dark, unaware as to what it is. In the book, he doesn't even know its a ring, so when he puts his hand in his pocket and asks, "What is in my pocket?" not even he knows.

In the Hobbit, as you recall, he sees Gollum and sees the ring fall out of his pocket. I was just surprised that PJ made that change, because sure it makes for a more dramatic 'find' of the ring... but I would have thought that they would be consistent.

I have seen Hidalgo and I LOVE it :) Such a great movie. I wish Viggo made more movies with horses :)

The Hobbit is the only book that really makes the Elves more jolly and cheerful (if I recall) as by the time LOTR comes around they are more than ready to leave Middle-Earth. The Silmarillion is so brief and historical its difficult to get a good idea what they were like in their 'golden' period. But I guess that first impression I got from the Hobbit stuck, and I imagined them as lighter and less angsty.

*scratches head* I really need to read the books again.

Hm, yeah, I thought he would be more consistent too. Hmmmm. He had his reasons, I guess.

\o/ I enjoyed this movie so much. I really need to rewatch it soon. (*snort* That's a list that's only growing but never getting shorter.)

Ah, since I've read LOTR first and do my best to push the fact that The Hobbit exists as a book away from me... ;)
