2012 - in review
I started 2012, bright and fresh with hope of a good year. And it has been a pretty mixed bag of a year. An unusual number of people died, some expected and others not. Three of my friends got married :) Kids were born. A good friend moved overseas. Another friend made a much needed 180 in her life and is finally in a good place. Met some more cool lj people.
I set myself some goals and only a few did I reach. The personal ones around being able to run a 10km by the end of the year... well... that didn't happen. It died around about April. I set myself a goal of reading 20 books this year and - hey, that one I managed :) I also set myself a few writing goals - in this post. How did I do on those?
1.
Complete A-Z list - have a fic title for each letter of the alphabet (I am really close!) - I don't think I made it. It was close though - Y and Z elude me
2. Finish and post the EPIC Wing!fic - alas no, did not happen :(
3. Finish Our Devoured Minds (h50) - Yes finished!
4. Complete Supply and Demand arc with 3 fics (big ones!) - Ha, not even close with this one
5. Write fics for three (or more) new fandoms - so far I am thinking Fringe and Temeraire. Not too sure on the other. - This I did, I think. I wrote a Fringe fic and two Avenger fics (and that totally counts)
6. Write another Dr Who & Rory fic - Alas, this I did not do either. But I wrote a Dragon!Dean fic :) no, no I did. The Fringe/Who crossover had Rory and Eleven so \o/
7. *takes a deep breath* An original story - not even close either. Sigh.
Alas, the main goal I set myself this year - that of either finding a new job and making a change in my life or working smarter (i.e. not as much) didn't happen. The year started out rough, got worse and then tailspinned into a promotion, more work, change management, oy vey. I have a very real suspicion that the only way I am going to see real change in my life - is if I kick the comfort zone of work, and knowing what I am doing and take the plunge and resign. Step off into the great unknown and try something different. I had this same conversation with myself last year *sigh*
But that dragon!Shep fic... is almost done \o/
