meet Peach Fuzz
So, I have a new hamster. I stopped by the animal shelter and adopted "Fuzz", who is now being renamed "Peach Fuzz" so I can call her "Peachy" because she's a short-hair Teddy Bear hamster with orange fur but a white undercoat, so it looks like a cheap dyejob with white roots showing. And she gives herself a mohawk (which I'm calling a "ham-hawk" - say it out loud if you don't get the joke) when she grooms. It's hilarious.
She's much more energetic than Dan-chan was, which makes me think that she's younger, which will be nice, because I'll at least get a few weeks before I have to deal with another dying hamster. Also, she doesn't look much like Dan-chan either (Dan-chan was white, long-hair with red eyes), which is also good, because that's still a bit of a sore spot for me.
She's currently acclimating to her new cage and her new room, so I'm trying to leave her alone as much as possible - she did fine on the car ride home, but once we got to my room, she got all twitchy, so I'm hoping some time on her own will calm her down.
