This weekend, I watched (and enjoyed) the first disc of the Long Way Round miniseries documentary special that aired on Bravo awhile back. I saw the program when it was televised and waited 2 years for it to finally hit DVD in the U.S.
For those unfamiliar with the program, it documented a motorcycle road trip taken by actor
Ewan McGregor and his friend, actor
Charley Boorman.
Beginning their journey from England, they traveled 20,000 miles, through Europe, Kazakhstan, Siberia, Mongolia, Alaska, Canada and all the way to New York City. I adore Ewan McGregor as an actor, so it was a no-brainer for me to watch this, but it turned out to be even more interesting than I'd expected. Humor, friendship, rough terrain, accidents, interesting cultures and just really a lot of fun to watch. Probably not everyone's cup of tea, but I'd definitely recommend it for Ewan fans as well as people who enjoy a fun travel documentary.
