24, The Constant Gardener and Haute Tension...
Today, I watched The Constant Gardener, the fifth season premiere of 24 and the first 45 minutes or so of Haute tension (High Tension). I'm, to be quite honest, a little traumatized/hyped/frazzled by the 24 premiere, so I'm going to be really brief about these until tomorrow.
( No real plot spoilers - just my feelings on each )
And second...dude! Totally my reaction. So very much agree with everything you said. I was seriously begging people to talk to me about it at work this morning. One of my friends, for various reasons, was planning on waiting until next weekend to watch all four eps and I convinced him to at least watch the first 10 minutes so he doesn't get spoiled for it. I'm still stunned.
I was eating when Palmer got shot and I swear I was completely unable to swallow for a few minutes. I was just so startled by it. I'm just so very sad about this. And I'm all for some serious Jack!Revenge! right about now, considering that my three favorite characters besides Jack were Michelle, Tony and Palmer.
I can't think of the White House guy's name either, but I knew right off that he was going to doctor the phone recording of Palmer's call to the First Lady. I still had so much distrust for him after last season that I knew he'd do something. Now, I'm dying to know what on earth Palmer would have called her about. I mean, of all people, why her? I get that they were friends, but she doesn't seem all that stable or reliable. I'm guessing it must involve her or her husband somehow.
And Chloe? She's definitely one of those love or hate characters and I've always been firmly planted on the side of thinking she's the most annoying character ever to appear on one of my shows, LOL. Last night, though...I was worried about her. And I didn't hate her. And I think I'm kind of resenting that. :)
Can't wait for tonight's ep.
