Some things about the bay area: When it rains there are really big snails. I have yet to see the legendary banana slug, and have been informed that I would be very lucky indeed to see one this late in the season, but miracles exist, don't they? I mean these snails are huge. Heaven forbid I ever step on one. I can only imagine the disgusting crunch and slime. I hear that you could eat them if they weren't so full of the poison that people use to get rid of them. I guess if you got a bunch and let them crawl around in your tub for a month, you could have a pretty decent light snack. I am staying in San Francisco for the week, house sitting for my boss. She lives in a real Full House type of place. No kimmy spottings yet, though. Not to be outdone, Eva's boss is giving her a Volvo, no all she needs to do is learn to drive. My daily walk to work takes me past such SF landmarks as: Russian Hill, the Vellejo steps being the chinese fitness epicenter of SF. After russian hill is chinatown, from chinatown north beach and all the beat landmarks, after that telegraph hill then the financial district and the waterfront. But mostly, its about the snails. Tomorrow I am back in Berkeley
