Game cycle.

As tends to happen with me, I get bored with one game and move on to another. That's why I keep several MMO subscriptions up at any given time - I'm likely to switch at a moment's notice.

WoW has been frustrating me to all hell recently. There's so much left to do, so much I want to do, and none of it that I -can- do. I want to see end-game raiding content, I love the big fights, I want to get in and mix it up. But the only way to do that is to be in a high-end serious raiding guild. PuGs can't handle that kind of organization.

Here's the frustrating part. My mage qualifies to be in the best guilds on the servers. My gear's rated to perform in the highest level raid in the game. My DPS output passes the server's #1 guild's requirements test. My character's got cash to waste, and buying flasks and potions for every fight wouldn't even register on my gold supply.

But I can't make any raid times. All the good guilds have scheduled, regular times to raid, and I work retail and can't attend any of them.

I just can't play that anymore. There's nothing to do, nowhere I can go.

So I'm back in to CoX again. Been playing for three or four days now. Still a fun game. There's less to accomplish, but there's always something to do.

Things I've re-learned:
1) My Defender is not to solo. It's just not fun.
2) I can't stand the villain starting area.
3) If I'm playing late-night, there's no point in playing a character other than my Brute or my Scrapper, because there won't be any groups.

Still, my Storm/Psychic Defender is great fun in a group. Can't wait to get him into a Terra Volta trial. I remember Forcefield defenders making that trial so damn easy, just drop a repulsion bubble and stand on the reactor core. I'm betting Hurricane will be nearly as fun. Just gotta get there.
