Rented Big Nothing (starring David Schwimmer and Simon Pegg) last night and OMG loved it! It's quite filthy, in a few senses of the word. Very amusing and a plot with lots of twists and turns. And I nearly choked on my drink when Simon Pegg started talking with an American accent. I was not expecting that one, now. Anyway, huge spoilers!! (Seriously, I've even given away the ending, I just had to talk about it).
> Right well David Schwimmer is awesome, and this role is so far from Ross from Friends. Charlie accidentally kills a guy. He thought he was dead because he didn't check his pulse properly, so he tied a garden gnome to him and stuck him in the septic tank. But the guy was just unconsious. Shit one. I love this exchange:
Gus: How long has he been down there breathing liquid shit?
Charlie: Ten minutes, tops.
Gus: *facepalm*
I love how Charlie gives an actual answer to Gus' question. And Gus' *facepalm* is hilarious.
> I love the scenes in the call centre, with all the "is your computer turned on" and the whole introduction to Gus. Like I said, I was really shocked when he started with the accent. It's pretty good.
> We get a lovely (and I mean that in slightly sarcastic terms, it's hardly one of those "artistic" scenes) sex scene with Josie and Gus. Oh, Simon put on a bit of weight for the movie, so... Anyway, yeah that's a mixture of embarassing because it, well it just kinda is, and funny when he finds out she's like 18.
> It's a very surreal film, because all the deaths are stange and everyone has another agenda. But that keeps you guessing. I really thought Josie wasn't the widow person but she was! But the guy she went off with in the end was obviously the killer boy.
> So, everyone dies. Pretty much the only main character left alive is Penelope, Charlie's wife. Even though we don't see Josie's death it's obviously gonna happen. Um, Gus gets shot and then falls and Charlie drinks some stuff. So, it was all rather pointless, but frickin brilliant!
Overall: 4.5/10 Go check it out, peoples!
Ooh, Frost and Pegg's Perfect Night In at 9. Better get some studying done before then!
