Okay so I've caught up on all the TV stuff I missed while at Oxegen. Although I haven't quite caught up on sleep yet. =P
[torchwood; children of earth; days four & five]
> I was really nervous about watching these because the impression I got from scanning my flist when I got back was that everyone kinda hates the writers. These episode did leave me feeling pretty depressed, but overall I thought the story was really good and kinda epic and there had to be consequences.
> That said, I do wish they hadn't killed Ianto. Just as I was warming to him and the idea of Ianto/Jack. Typical. Lauren had already told me he dies via text message which OMG I could have killed her for, but I was no less of a wreck when it happened. This is what really broke me:
Ianto: I love you.
Jack: Don't.
Oh, boys. *sniff*
> The scene where Frobisher kills his family and himself...woah. I saw it coming, but the way it was set up, with no voices being heard, just the music, and then the gunshots...that was intense.
> Lois was pretty awesome.
> The prime minister was a twat, but really, in the Whoverse, prime ministers don't last very long.
> The idea of the 456 using children as drugs really creeped me out. *shiver*
> I simply could not believe Jack allowed Stephen to die to get rid of the 456. His own grandson. Of course it wouldn't have made a difference if it was any other child, but with Alice trying to save him...oh it was just heartbreaking.
> I find myself wondering - if it was 10% of the adult population, or an adult that had to die to spread the signal, would people have been so opposed? I know children have more to live for and all that, but...I dunno, it's just something I found myself thinking about.
> Gwen/Rhys is adorable. I am warming to Gwen, she really narked me in some episodes. Her big speech about the Doctor looking at Earth and turning away in shame was awesome.
Mock The Week was hilarious ("this is not Loose Women!"), and Top Gear was awesome as usual, and YAY for Jon Richardson on Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow. I've developed an urge to rewatch some episode of Dollhouse, so I'm gonna go do that now. =]
