1. I've had a mustache (and usually more facial hair) since I was sixteen.
2. I started my career in science at the age of 8. I was a lost cause five minutes into my first class.
3. I've won at least half-dozen awards in art.
4. I was published the first time at age 16 and again at 19 and 20 for poetry - all judged at college level for publication. I've published scientifically more than a dozen times in minor sources, and have at least eight major publications with two more in review, a scant majority as first author.
5. I've never broken a bone.
6. I've danced the Nutcracker, as Drosselmeier and the partner to the Snow Queen (not the Prince).
7. I placed third in the Freshman Math Prize competition at my undergraduate university with 48 hours warning and no preparation. I hate doing math.
8. My only two vices are Cola Cola and chocolate, and I can control the chocolate (but alas, not really the soda).
9. I think my two biggest flaws, in hindsight, are being too open and too trusting. I'm working on that.
10. I have terrible, world-class bad luck (except in the laboratory), yet I know I have good karma.
11. I've dated and slept with women and men and thought I was bisexual for a short while, but at the age of thirty-six, I'm genuinely quite happy to be a gay man (despite being appalled at some people's responses to that).
12. I'm a socially liberal, fiscally conservative moderate, and I'm a life long Democrat because there is no other morally and practically acceptable option in the US.
13. I think humans are well on their way to making themselves and most of the higher animal life on this planet extinct (on land and in the oceans), but I hope that we will have moved on to other places in the solar system by then so we might someday return.
14. I can’t drink coffee (too bitter), but I like coffee flavored things - candies, Frappucinos, etc. As a bitter hypertaster, I can't eat or drink anything that's overtly bitter.
15. Though I don’t look it and I'm only 12.5% genealogically, I am SO Italian, as is my father's side of the family. We often have lasagne for *Christmas dinner*.
16. The foreign countries I wish to travel next to are (in order of preference): Italy, Ireland, Australia, England, Japan.
17. I love to cook, though don’t often do so. I prefer to cook fancier meals - holidays and parties.
18. I am a child of 80's music, and it thrills me to no end that that style and spirit is back!
19. I love my partner of 15 years beyond reason, though I often wish to throttle him. :D
20. I have bench pressed twice my body weight, and am currently (finally) back in the gym with a future goal of replicating that achievement.
