Meant to update this a day or two ago, but haven't gotten to it.
I decided to wear my Italian dress to work for Halloween. We were having a department contest. I found out Monday night at sewing that my corset will fit well enough for the rest of the dress to go on over it, which is the first time in 2-3 years. :) Can't wait until I lose enough weight for it to really properly fit and get closed all the way up.
So I pack everything Wed morning and take it in. I don't get dressed until break around 9:45, as I wanted to get some work done and all. I got one of the other girls to help lace me into my corset, and another girl to help with the one side of the bodice that I don't leave laced up. I had to do some fiddling with the bodice cords to get the holes to line up properly, which I think they do now. Nice to know I didn't get the spiral lacing on the angle completely borked up.
The girls here had lots of questions, which I tried to answer. They were impressed with the corset and all the boning. One lady actually wants to get a corset of her own to help with back support and posture, so I'll see what I can do to get her in contact with someone.
I went down to get lunch, and rather surprisingly I didn't get a single comment. I even wore my bumroll. ;) I want to make a new one, though, that is more of a croissant shape that curves around my hips to make it look a bit more natural, at least as natural as a bumroll can get. :P The girls were vastly amused when I put that on. In fact, one of them spanked my roll while my back was to them. :P Caught me by surprise. They were disappointed as well that I didn't get any comments while picking up my pizza slice. ;)
The supervisors came by after lunch, they were dressed up as a witch and a cat. Only one other girl in here was dressed up, but they got our pictures. I got undressed on my afternoon break, shortly before 2, as my corset was bothering my hips by then. It feels an inch short or so, and the busk is definitely too short. It was amusing using a 12" ruler down the front, but I think 14" would work much better, and not poke me in the tummy so much. At least this time I remembered that I had to get help out of it here, as I don't have help at home, and cutting myself out of my corset once in a lifetime is enough, thanks! My chemise still has the 2 little snips in it.
The superintendant had candy and stuff down in the foyer, so I ended up with a mostly quiet evening at home, cept for my trip to Walmart. I had intended to have a look for more jeans like the Levis I bought down in Lowell, but though there were the same brands, and even the same sizes (12P!!), they were $30 for what I bought down there for $15, so they stayed on the rack. On my way to look for yarn, though, I passed the boots, and a pair caught my eye. They're black with some silver on the back, with black fur edging, inside zipper, with lacing up the boot including black furry pompoms :P But after a quick look, I realized that the lacing was virtually useless, and that I could remove it, and replace it with maille! :D :D So eventually I shall make enough stainless chain to put on the boots. Now I have some nice winter boots, finally, for $35.

Because I don't want to do a second post here at work, an update on my next trip to Carolingia. I have vacation booked in January for the 21-25, and found a guarantor for my passport (thanks Greg!). So now it's down to my friend buying my tickets, so I can pay him back over the next couple months, and actually submitting my passport. I meant to go down after work and do my knitting and hope the line was short today, but I realized halfway to work that I'd forgotten my papers at home. :(
So starting Monday I'll spend approx. an hour a day camping out with my knitting at the Passport Office. Should give me good time to work on mom's other sock. The first one is up to the cuff now, so will be done tonight.
