Projects and such

Well, Jo, I got your bracelet modified while at work today, so it'll be ready for Thursday night. It also caught the eye of a coworker, who I then showed the sterling chain, and promptly ordered a necklace/ring/earring set for herself in sterling, and a necklace/ring set for her daughter in stainless (with bronze for safety rings).

Those will be probably started on my way to Boston, to take up my time on the bus there and back, and she'll start giving me payments with each paycheck starting in October. The $5/inch hardly made her blink, even when realizing a 20" necklace would be $100. Yay for me! :D

This time, I'm putting any profit back into materials for future projects. Like more goldfill and more sterling. I'm also thinking some EPDM and anodized aluminum like what's in Jo's bracelet. I figure it couldn't hurt to try a few, see if they'll sell for ~$20.

Got 6" of weaving done on the lanyards last weekend, now that I have the 4 cards weighted like they needed. Makes it much easier to untwist them, since they're constantly turning forwards as opposed to the rest of the pack, which is 4 up, 4 back.

Going to take at least one sock to knit with me to Boston. Gotta remember to look for another set of DPNs for the kilt hose I'm making for my friend in Ohio... would be nice to get those off by Xmas. Might take some novelty yarn I'd bought on sale last year and make a shrug/stole for mom or dad's wife for Xmas too... time to start of gifts and such. Boo winter :P

Work is slowly coming along... actually, it's faster than the last file, but it's much longer, longest yet at 3 hours of dictation, so it's still dragging. Got 13 minutes done already tonight, hoping to top an hour if possible. So, back to it now that I got that brief update done...
