Things n Stuff ;)

Well, since it was so discussed Monday night at sewing, figured it makes an appropriate heading for this. Also, since Estelle wants to see some things, here they are.

Ooh, just got an idea regarding this TW project. If Joy approves, that is. I was thinking of making hers green leaves on yellow, but reversing the colors for the three apprenti, since their belts are green, so yellow leaves on green to match, and would still show them for a matching set, but the laurel lanyard would be different. Also, I'd do wrapped loops at one end to loop the other end through, and I have just enough green silk for the laurel lanyard, then can use the yellow silk on the other three, since I have more yellow. Let me know, Joy?

As the caption says when you click on it, this is just before the third section of feathers, just starting chart 6 of 8(ish). As of that picture, I have 92 rows left, of which I've gotten another 3 or 4 done since. It may not look large now, but once I block it, it'll stretch! The wiggly line just to the right is the center line... that's not how it will look when done, since what looks like the point now is actually the top middle back, what will sit on the neck when done. It's funny looking now cause it's on straight needles.

My senmurv. :) Cute fella, but I wish I'd seen the original textile the graphic was taken from first, as there's some details that got rather badly distorted in between. Ah well, will just do a second tile after this sometime, with a drawing direct from the textile picture in the book. :) The blue will fire to a deep blue with very slight green hint, I believe.

My living room at the moment. As you can see, I'm rearranging, but not quite gotten to cleaning yet. The desk and the end table I'd been using as a TV stand are now gone thanks to Freecycle. I hope to get a better TV stand with shelves through Freecycle, or buy one eventually, and I'm considering Freecycling the coffee table (under the window) and getting a smaller ottoman or something with interior storage. Shelving will be the savior of my stuff!

Hmm, what else...? Heard back from Accentus with answers regarding vacation and such... "Vacation time is to be taken whenever you want since you are your own boss. That being said, you are responsible to notify your Account manager and Team Leader in advance. In terms of sick days, it is fine since again, you are your own employer. And if you cannot reach your minimum requirement due to an injury, that is also understood."

So I'm hoping to ask a few of you, maybe tomorrow night, about being an independent contractor, since I'm hoping some of you will have some experience to share with me, as I'm quite uneducated about the differences between an IC and an employee, and wish to be more comfortable in my knowledge before finally sending in the contract. But with what he's told me so far, I'm leaning towards taking the job. There's still 6 weeks of training or so, he mentioned.

Guess that's it for now. :) Homemade pizza tonight for supper!
