I'd never been to Paris, nevermind France or Europe. Never been much out of the Southwest until recently.

But I once heard somethin' about the Dauphin of France coming down to Missouri. From the newspaper, maybe a book. He's like a prince, ain't he?

Why'd you want to go to France anyway? I mean the chicks are hot and I've heard the food is awesome but you can get all those things in America.

Never said I wanted to go to France.

I've never given much thought to travel in general.

I don't do airplanes. They crash.

Like the gulf? Nah. Dad was a marine but by the time I was old enough to join the military, we had a different mission.

Only way you could've flied a plane was to have been in the Great War. Least in my world.

Nah. But my father was.

Nah, not talking about flying one. Just riding in one.

Probably army. I don't know that much about it either except Dad was a Marine in 'Nam.

Don't know about no 'nam. You might not remember, but it's the 30s back home for me.

Right. I forget this place pulls people from all sorts of times. Nam was about 40 years after your war.

Yup. I'd say it's a human thing but from what I can tell the angels and demons keep it going too.
