So basic random head thought from my character Wren and her becoming a Bat. I read a story recently about Robin 5/Damian Wayne landing in the Young Justice cartoon verse. I came up with a story about Robin and Wren working on a case for Teen Titans and getting captured.
Her small hands, no longer in the gauntlets hovered on the edge of the force field. No doubt the pre-teen was using whatever screwed up sensory trick she had to explore the cell.
"You've had plenty of time to learn from Red Hood," Damian said. "What's the first rule about fighting an opponent?"
"Find the weak spot. Then hit it."
"And?"
"Hit it till it bleeds," her voice hissed as she threw a couple punches at the force field. It wavered slightly, sending sparks cascading over the surface.
The guard laughed. "That's designed against Metahumans. Hit it all you want, you're not getting out of there."
"That's where you're wrong. Its not a question of if, its a question of when. And if you will live long enough for your Director to kill you." Damian watched closely as Wren threw a couple random punches into the field while exploring the surface. He almost missed the double tap with her thumb she gave him to signal the weak spot. The "tt" the only indication that he received her message.
"The second mistake you made was putting us in here together," Damian said as Wren slipped her gauntlets on. "The third is only taking our utility belts."
"The fourth is being a dumb ass," Wren said. "Fifth thinking that I'm not a threat. I'm the smart one. He's the muscle."
Only a flicker of movement was all the warning Wren gave Robin to move. Sparks from her kick still arched over the field as his full bodied kick landed a moment after hers. Next came both her fists into the same spot, not landing with as much force, since she didn't have full time to recover from the kick. But his punches more then made up for it. The idea had been to keep the force field in flux for his punch to distort it. The field rippled like water with a huge stone being thrown in. There wasn't a chance for the ripples to reverberate before his next punch.
The guard raised his gun, surprised as the electricity arching off the rippling force field. He didn't even see the small stone that hit him directly in the forehead, launched by Wren in the tiny hole being formed. The rock was followed by two small bat-rangs pulled from Wren's boots. To most, they looked like decorations, but her suit had been designed by Red Robin. The bat-rangs bounced off the wall and into the electrical control box, shorting it out. The field quickly collapsed.
"The first mistake was taking us at all," Damian said as he kicked the woozy guard in the head.
