i <3333 contributing asians. theyre so supportive.
i definitely need to see these asian power beads because i think i was thinking of the wrong thing when i thought i knew what they were.
i was thinking we could also make banners and stuff for the kickoff. of course we would love the library: what asian doesnt like borrowing books and movies for free?! i think we could maybe have a parade or rally in the village... they'd have to block off the streets and stuff. actually, considering its probably gonna be you, me, my sister, maria, tiffany who also swims (you guys should start a little club on your swim team), and any random ones i'm forgetting, we can probably just fit on the sidewalk. however, since i have really good connections (since my moms a librarian!) i bet we can get the streets closed off anyway. i like the case idea with the music. i bet the hall monitors that have whistles and yell at us would be very excited about our performace. i'll be sure to talk to them tomorrow.
haha yea aishwarya rai was on oprah and we most definitely taped it. i've watched it twice! haha
i love that we've never had a lengthy conversation and we're already organizing the most influential day in the history of fhs together... asian heritage month kickoff '05! livejournal is most definitely a beautiful thing.
its good to see you type a really long comment as well, so i dont seem as weird. and it was fabtastical saying hi to you in the hall today! as for the swim team club, we are way ahead of you on that. well, kinda. we have the "MINORITY RELAY" which never really happened.
yes yes, i remember when anjali was watching those oc dvds and i was like YOU CAN AFFORD SEASON DVDS?! but no, she borrowed it from the lib. and seeing as you have a special connection as your mom is the audio visual lady, you get first dibs dont you?! now thats NO FAIR. banners..yes! we could cover all of those darn "school starts at 722, dont be late!" signs with our own creations. "Asian Heritage Month starts on May 1, don't be late in celebrating!"
you dont know quite enough asians. too bad i didnt know you when i had my asian party cuz there were lots there and you could have made friends. the sidewalk would be a good fit, we could put like, buddhist signs and smelly fish and fake purses everywhere, and we could pretend we were walking down the sidewalk in chinatown.
DO YOU WEAR A SILK WRAP THINGY TOOOO?! JUST LIKE AISHWARYA?! and when you go to kiss someone, do you start singing?
all we needed was a holiday like this to form a connection, Kickoff 05 will be a beautiful thing!!
MINORITY RELAY?! you dont say! me and anjali would be more than happy to come down to your meets and cheer our asians to sweet victory. do you compete against other continents? is there a european relay? it sounds simply intriguing.
haha i love your banner ideas. on the banners, we could put pictures of the minority relay peeps along with us in our asian pride month shirts.
i definitely dont know enough asians. my sister was SO excited about the party and the awesome food and the even awesomer asians. LOL i actually laughed out loud at your chinatown idea. awesome. i <3 the fake purse idea and there could be piles of rice EVERYWHERE.
no, i dont wear saris because they take time to put on but i wear plenty of other indian garb. do you wear those cool silk chinese outfits that have the collar that stays up?
kickoff '05... bringing asians together like never before.
ps- have you heard of the comedian russel peters? he's indian and hilarious and i think you'd like him.
yes, yes, the minority relay. it consisted of tiff and i, the 2 asians, and then a muslim and a hindu ohhhh baby. and in global this week we are learning ALL about your people. in our minority relay the hindu and the muslim got along. if the rest of india would just follow our example, everything would be dandy! while we were watching Gandhi, i kept trying to pick out one or two of your relatives, but goshdarnit if yall just look alike. and even though our relay never actually took place, we would have gotten first, you can bet on it.
wellllllll it was a great party. youll have to come back from college to partake in the 2nd annual asian party. can you believe that III susan yang, did NOT go to chinatown last week when i went to nyc?! i know, im a disgrace to all asians everywhere. but i have an excuse! its cuz im going to china this summer and i didnt want to ruin the experience. i got 2 fake purses from a black guy on the street and ijust wanted to yell at him for stealing business from my people.
i wear my chinese silk dresses every single weekend to do all my cleaning in. they are just so comfortable. and when people ring my doorbell, i make sure to answer first so that i can bow to them.
no i have never heard of russel peters, but if he makes indian jokes, i think i would love him! youll have to introduce me to some of his material. have you ever heard of the rapper jin? yes yes an asian rapper. one of his songs is called "learn chinese" it COULD be our theme song for asian heritage month, lemme know what you think!
ps. welllll i think im just gonna have to add you as a friend. longest comment yet!
the movie in global sounds AWESOME and my sister told me that mr moretter always says wrong info about my people and she gets very flustered about it.
i will DEFINITELY be coming home for ALL the asian parties. i'm very disappointed that you never went to chinatown, but do they have knockoff purses and stuff in china? thatd be friggin awesome.
hahahahahahaha i love that you bow to your guests, its fantabulous. however, i dont think you should limit yourself by bowing to your people- why not salespeople and anyone else who might stop by?
russel peters makes jokes about indians, asians... actually pretty much every race. i definitely need to hear jin because i want to memorize the theme song before the big day!
my sister told me that i should add you as a friend... shes sort of my chief livejournal advisor. hahaha
ahahahaha, well, as i know by now, anjali IS well informed on the matters of livejournal and commenting. what are you gonna do when you go to college without your chief advisor around?!
great job at nyssma today, your solo was unbelievably amazing!
there would be no asian party without you, obvvvviously. and yes, there are many knockoff purses in china. last time i was there, i saw an abercrombie shirt hanging up in the subway. anddd i bet theyre even cheaper, seeing as theres like 430598 chinese dollars in one us dollar.
speaking of ppl who stop by my house. theres this group of mormons that have stopped by my house every sunday for like, the past 3 months trying to convert us. they gave us the mormon bible, and this dvd about it. and my dumb parents keep inviting them in to chat for an hour. its so annoying. i have to hide out upstairs everytime they come, which means i have to watch extreme makeover and desperate housewives on the crappy tv upstairs. i keep telling my dad to just tell them that weve decided to attend chinese church.

YOU did an amazing job at nyssma too. i think that the orchestra as a whole would have greatly suffered without the fantabulous asian solos.
holler at knockoffs. indians arent cool enough to have knockoffs, but they do have child labor so we still get random bags.
child labor=heart.
jk
holler at gold with distinction and orchestra study halls.
