Based on the last... uh... six hours? I've decided humour = response.
I've had more comments/reviews for Immaculate conception than for the latest chapters of Echoes and SoaL combined, and they've been up for more than 24 hours.
This certainly isn't a complaint - I don't write for the comments (though I love and cherish each one I get); I write to share a story. Reviews warm my heart, but I would never base how much I write on how many I get.
Actually, I'm amused.
I've sometimes suspected my serious style scares some readers off, and this rather unempirical research would seem to support that.
*shrugs*
The other thing that I find amusing about this, is that Immaculate conception evolved from an offer I made to the sender of my 100th review on FF.net for SoaL.
So if I hadn't gotten that 100th review there, I wouldn't have been inspired to make the offer, and Immaculate conception may never have been written.
Maybe I need to change the formula: reviews + offer of one-shot = humour + more reviews
Sounds like a winning formula, doesn't it? Oh well, back to editing SoaL 4.1 ....
