I’m learning, very very slowly, how to play guitar. Chords are very difficult for me, since I’m not used to all my fingers working together. I can kind of play bass a little better though, so that’s good. One skill enhancing the other, and all. So last night I sat down and practiced “Times Like These” by the Foo Fighters until my fingers were sore, and I couldn’t see straight anymore. I’m getting better!!
Saw Wallace and Gromit in the Curse of the Were-Rabbit with Amy from BBV. She’s a nice girl, and it was a very cute movie-some adult jokes thrown in to spice things up. Haha. I like kid’s movies. :) Helena Bonham Carter was the lead female character, and I adore her.
Amy seems to be doing alright for herself, she’s finishing up school and all that. She might move to Virginia when she’s all done, and go to a 4-year school there. Good for her. :)
I just stuck a piece of candy in my mouth, from work, that is absolutely DISGUSTING. Ew, gross.
So today is Jason’s day off, and Drew has no work either. They only have class during the day. Drew gets out of class at about 1, and he and Jay are going to the hunting store so they can spend their gifts from their uncle Tim-he gave them each $100 for their birthdays, so they could go to the hunting store and stock up for November. That trip will be the longest time I’ve spent without Jason in the almost 2-years we’ve been dating.
Jay and I have seen one another, for at least a few minutes, just about every day since we started dating. There were a few days here and there, of course. Things like, when he had to go to Texas for his cousin’s communion, and we didn’t see each other for a whole day. I dropped him off at the airport Friday night and picked him up Sunday morning, and there were a few other times like that.
So he’s going away hunting (he missed it last year ‘cause we couldn’t afford it) with the men in his family, and I’m going to be alone with his mother for a week. It should be quite interesting. I adore his mom-I honestly do! She’s kinda crazy, though. Haha. She and I already made a few plans for the time when the boys are away-we’re going to eat dinner one night at this Mexican restaurant near my job, and we’re going to rent “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” ‘cause we’d wanted to watch it when it was in the theaters. It’s a girly flick, and we both wanted to watch it, but the boys would have run us out of the house.
Anyway-I’m going to miss him. A lot.
So after I get out of work, we’re going to the guitar center so Drew can exchange the guitar strings we bought him for a special kind that work better with the guitar he has. Also, he asked his mom for one kind of guitar amp for his birthday [read: he circled the amp he wanted in a magazine and handed it to her] and she got him a completely different (more expensive) one because “the guy said this one was better,” so he wants to exchange it and use the extra money to get a plug-in for the computer! So we can record!! EXCITING. Also, Jay needs to purchase some plastic pads for his cymbals. And I just want to futz around with pretty guitars. ;)
And then later on tonight we’re eating at that funky Mexican place (‘cause the food there is SO GOOD) and it should be, all in all, a full evening. :)
