I just finished reading A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini (Who also wrote THe Kite Runner. For those of you that have read The Kite Runner, I thought this book was just as good, and although it is very sad, I didn't find it as sad as The Kite Runner. Some may disagree with me though. If you haven't read it, and enjoy reading, I suggest them both. Great books. Sad.
I haven't been up to much the last few days. I have been working a weird schedual because Tom and Ulli have been looking at Kindergartens at night to see if they can find one for Lisa to get in to in September. It's crazy, their kindergarten applications are like our college applications! There is competetion to get in, and silly things, like Lisa being born in November, mean that she has a lower chance of getting in. Their kindergartens are the equivalent of a Canadian pre-school...only, much more crazy to get in to, and expensive. An English speaking kindergarten, which they considered, costs around $1000 CAD/MONTH! CRAZY! It's cheaper to have an Au Pair, and that way you get free babysitting on top of it ;) AND she still learns english.
Lisa has been amazing me at how fast she has picken up english. Every morning when I am slicing bread she says "Want some!" and when we leave the room she says "Turn the light off!" She says "Please" and "Thank you" and when she wants me to walk around in my highheels, she will say "Put the shoes on!" She melts my heart when she speaks english. I feel so proud.
Going in to the city today, was going to dress up and go to the Hard Rock Cafe, but Sarah hasn't been paid yet, and just quit at the kindergarten, so she is low and cash...we'll go another time. She also might be moving! To Senlinger Tor! Which is one stop by subway from City Center, rather than like 6 stops, where she lives now. That means it is closer for me to go see her!
I haven't been going in to the city much, because I am cheap. I didn't buy a month pass this month, so I have a stripe ticket. This means it costs 4,40 return to go in to the city. Before, I just paid 61 all at once, at the beginning of the month, then I would go in lots to get my moneys worth. I can go in 14 times and break even. That is every second day in February. I have only been in once this month. heh. I am saving money though, so I guess it isn't so bad.
Going to check out Schloss Nymphenburg and Residenz sometime soon. Maybe when that mystery boy comes. idk what to do with him when he gets here. All I can think of is Hofbrauhaus, the big beer hall, so he can hear some good ole oompah music, drink a maß of beer, and eat weißwurst. heh. I am a horrible host.
Off to work I go. Feeding the babies then going in to the city.
Oh, I forgot to mention I am getting fat.
Have a nice day.
