Why do we make things more complicated than they have to be?

So I spent the morning watching this documentary about race relations. It was an inter-racial group of teenagers from both South Africa and America. They spent time together traveling through Africa discussing race relations in their two countries. The groups were lead by Desmond Tutu and John Hope Franklin. It was absolutely amazing.

It made me think, why do we make things so complicated?

The similarities between the South African experience and the American experience with racism are striking, but the way in which the governments have dealt with it contrast each other greatly.

I have so many things I want to say but I just don't know how to. It makes me so sad and upset and confused.

Racism...I just don't get it.
