I dreamed of the sea. Of the waves crashing onto the deck, of a thundering sky and a starless night. I dreamed of men tied to the sea, dreamed I was one of them. The tide was high and the sails were unfurled. I clung to the rail and watched in fascination at the height of the waves that rolled towards us. The rock of the ship, the cries of the men, the crack of lightning across the sky, the smell of salt and wind and blood.

I woke up tangled in my sheets. Maybe I should stop reading Moby Dick right before bed.
