From Krista ~ Hurricane Aid Status

From my friend Krista today---

Hi everyone!
I just got off the phone with Louise at the Marksville town hall. She wanted to thank everyone for the donations that are being sent/have been sent to the town hall. They still have 3,000 displaced people with more trickling in and still have yet to see a Red Cross or FEMA presence or direct aid. She informed me that donations are coming in by the truckful from all over the U.S. and that Ohio and California donations have been enormous. She said that they have been overwhelmed with donations and that families are receiving the help they are in desperate need of. She expressed intense gratitude towards your generosity.

I personally want to thank everyone for all the help that you have given me. I was able to send out 10 (20-50 lb) packages directly to Marksville. Thanks to a generous shipping donation by one of Tara's clients as well as additional donations from some neighbors I will probably be sending out 2 more packages, this one will be sent to the Buckner Child and Family Services. I will be dropping off further incoming donations to Capitol City Chevrolet and have informed the staff at Marksville City Hall who to contact in order to retrieve those donations should Red Cross and FEMA fail to aid these people.

I just don't know how to say it enough, but THANK YOU!!!!!!. If the people in Marksville could tell you themselves, I'm sure they would.

If you'd like to send things direct you can
still send to:
