Bonjour mes amis
Ok, so I'm going to try and relearn French. A language I haven't studied for, ooh 15 years maybe. Bloody hell, I left school 15 years ago. I'm old!
Anyhoo, where was I? Oh yes, French! Well you see I really should speak the language much better than I do as a large part of my degree is spent studying French art. Yes, I know you don't need to read when you're looking at pictures. But I do need to know the history and context in which the art was created. I particularly want to read some of the works of the early French feminists, most of which has never been translated into English.
So, I have to figure out when I can get to the language lab (which, contrary to the info on the web site, is only open for two hours each day) between work, the gym (yes, you read correctly), and erm life.
Oh, I have to add a wee anecdote about one of my friend's sons! He's only 8 and has to be one of the liveliest and sweetest creatures on the planet. Unfortunately he did worship satan for a while. Sorry, make that 'sainton' (how he thought it was pronounced). Apparently he thought he was one of Jesus' friends. But don't worry, it's ok. The poor chappy realised his mistake when watching Omen III and was promptly saved.
I was in hysterics when told that one - Omen III saved their 8 year old son from worshiping the devil! I promised not to call social services. Lol.
Best be off now. I need to conserve energy for next week when it seems I'll be baking non-stop. Two birthday parties in one week and I have to bake for both of them. This during my week off work. Oh well, I love it really. ;)
